JahPan is New York City's , authentic steel drum band ensemble. Our band is largely comprised of musicians from Trinidad and Tobago, the country that created steel drums, (or "pans") and produces the vast majority of the world's best players. We perform year-round at parties, weddings, corporate and special events, festivals, restaurants, retail establishments, hotels and country clubs.

JahPan generally performs as a group of 3 to 9 musicians -- or you can hire anywhere from a soloist to upwards of a thirty-piece steel orchestra! The band includes mainly steel drummers (pannists), as well as keyboardists, bass guitarists, drummers, congas players and singers -- many of whom are regarded to be among the finest musicians and arrangers in the world of steel pan and calypso. We frequently have top-notch guest artists join us on gigs and draw upon the larger steel pan community for specially-commissioned events.

We are often called upon to work with other musicians and bands. Our pannists are expert soloists and easily fit into any musical setting, whether it's to back up or enhance a jazz, R&B, pop or world beat group.
